Director: André D'Elia

André D’Elia is the director and producer of The Water Law (2015), Belo Monte, Announcement of a War (2012), and “The King’s Friend” (2018). André also launched the awareness campaign: “Indigenous Rights,” “National Indigenous Mobilization,” and “PEC 215 Knot in the Throat”. With O2 Films, he directed episodes for Discovery Channel and was the general director of “I am Amazon” for Google Earth, produced by Fernando Meirelles. In 2017, he directed the acclaimed Demarcation Naw! With 25 of the biggest Brazilian music stars (such as Elza Soares, Gilberto Gil and Djuena Tikuna). In partnership with Greenpeace, APIB, ISA, and many others, Demarcation Naw! is the most-seen campaign on the defense of Indigenous people of all time: the film had over 5.6 million plays. In 2018, André directed the documentary Old Lord Savanna, which proved to be an important political articulating tool for expanding the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park in Brazil. After winning festivals, Old Lord Savanna was acquired by Netflix. In October 2019, André launched the intense “The King’s Friend,” a hybrid documentary and fiction film about mining, politics, and the crime tragedy that destroyed the Doce River, now available on the Amazon Prime platform. More recently, André D'Elia directed the “Decade of the Oceans” film campaign for UNESCO and RARE Brazil, narrated by Mateus Solano. André directed the “Good Clothes, Fair Pay” film campaign for Fairtrade Deutschland, which was filmed in India, and also the “Erde Gut, Alles Gut” film campaign for Fairtrade Deutschland, which was filmed in Brazil. Its latest feature film: “Ashes Of The Forest”, in partnership with the artist Mundano, Rhiza Filmes, Parede Viva, WWF, Greenpeace, Be The Earth Foundation, Bem Te Vi, is licensed by Canal Brasil (Globo Play Mais Canais) for 2025. André provides services to numerous NGOs, Indigenous Associations, and Quilombola Associations. He is known for his ethical positioning and found his large audience in free screenings in schools and universities, becoming a reference in the unconventional distribution in educational institutions, especially in Biology, Geography, Environmental Management, and postgraduate courses in economics. Currently, André is involved in the fight against industrial mining in South Bahia as he produces his sixth feature film in partnership with the Movement "Sul da Bahia Vivo." In collaboration with the climate journalist Louisa Schneider and the nature photographer Markus Mauthe, André is currently looking for new partners to conclude a global series of six episodes about Climate Justice.
